Everyone decides the hotel according to his own needs and financial capacity. Many times after reaching the hotel we have to face various unexpected events. These events make our mentality sad and upset. And so in the case of traveling alone, if you have to stay overnight in a hotel, you have to keep your eyes and ears open for many small things for the sake of safety. Awareness on little things will save you from many unwanted incidents.
Focus on safety
When you have to stay overnight in a hotel alone, be sure to look for a hotel that prioritizes security. Try to find out if your hotel's security personnel are always on duty. Focus on safety and not expensive hotels or you may face untoward incident.
Do not fix rooms on first floor or ground floor
It is a natural thing that if there is any kind of terrorist attack on the hotel, the first floor or the ground floor will be affected first. Because the ground floor is the easiest and most convenient for arrival and departure. Therefore ground floor rooms should be avoided for safety reasons.
Do not fix too much upper room
Do not fix the room/room too high. Because if you want to attract someone's attention by shouting for some unwanted reason, no one will hear you. Therefore, it is better not to choose a floor that is too high.
Fix double bed or twin bed room
If you are not sure about safety, you can rent a two-bed room as an extra precaution. This will confuse anyone who inquires about you into thinking that you have a partner.
Ask the hotel staff to keep your room number confidential
When you need to leave the hotel, while giving the key to the hotel manager, if there are strangers around, say the room number in a low voice so that no one else can hear. And be sure to tell the hotel manager to keep your room number a secret.
Be aware of social media use
Avoid location tags on social media. Criminals can take that opportunity if the information about where and which hotel you are in is disclosed through social media.
Do not pronounce the name of the hotel outside
Avoid saying the name of the hotel to strangers outside the hotel unnecessarily. Also, if you want to return to the hotel by any vehicle, you can get off at another place near the hotel to hide the name of the hotel and come to the hotel on foot after some time.
Do not enter a hotel room if someone is following you
If you feel someone is following you after entering the hotel, go to the reception instead of entering your room. And of course, make sure that the follower doesn't doubt that you understand his purpose.
Keep your belongings packed at your own risk
Hotel security personnel actually take care to clean the rooms. Also keep important things under your own supervision. And how important or expensive things you have that no one can easily understand.
