Do's and Don'ts When Staying at a Hotel

Even if you leave the house and go far away due to travel addiction, you need a place to rest your head. And the address for staying outside the house for a short period of time is modern day hotels, inns, motels, backpack hostels etc. But because you are staying in a hotel after spending a lot of money, you can't treat it like your own home. Hotel accommodation has some civilized etiquette. Knowing and following hotel etiquette shows people's taste, so let's know what can and can't be done in a hotel.

    1. Staying honest:

Don't book a double bed room for two people and end up with a family of 8. Always be honest with the reception during or after booking the hotel room. If the number of traveling companions increases for any reason, inform the hotel reception in advance at the time of check-in.

    2. Say no to noise:

When staying in a hotel, remember that there are many people in the room around you who share the same business and everyone has a right to privacy. So limit the joy of your chat or holiday fun and refrain from making noise in hotel rooms, corridors.

    3. Maintain cleanliness:

Almost all hotels offer housekeeping services, but that doesn't mean you can take advantage of their services by making your room untidy or dirty. Be respectful of public property and keep hotel rooms as clean as possible. Use trash cans instead of littering the room, place wet towels or glass on trays or racks rather than on furniture. All these small tasks will show your taste to outsiders at the end of the day.

    4. Develop environmentally friendly habits:

Think about your environment and future instead of wasting hotel electricity, gas and other utilities because you are staying with money. In the morning, when leaving the room for the whole day, remember to turn off the main switch of the room light, fan, AC, TV, hair dryer etc. This will prevent unnecessary wastage of electricity and reduce environmental pollution.

    5. Buffet breakfast is not a place to waste food:

Many hotels these days offer buffet breakfast in the morning. For the satisfaction of the eyes and the mind by seeing various food arrangements, we often do not put more than our capacity on the plate and waste most of the food. Take as much food on the plate as you can while maintaining politeness. Wasting food means you are somehow taking food from someone else's mouth and throwing it away.

    6. Follow Timings:

Every hotel has its own timings for check in, check out, dining etc. As a guest, it is important to respect all these rules. In case of late check out or if you want to go to the room before the scheduled check in time, please speak to the hotel reception. Again all hotels have a fixed time for serving food, plan your day according to their routine without expecting food before or after that.

    7. Room Service:

The difference between a home and a hotel is that there are separate people and services to do the daily work. But don't expect room/laundry service at midnight or early morning. Check the room service hours by talking to the reception. It is best not to make untimely demands for any special service outside of the scheduled room service. Follow hotel rules. Don't bribe the hotel staff to get the service you want. You are endangering your honor and the job of the hotel staff.

    8. Take Care of Children:

If the hotel does not have baby care services or nanny services, it is your sole responsibility to take care of your children. Babies are naturally restless and love noise and bustle. Be careful that they don't damage the hotel's belongings or cause any accidents in their frenzy. It is also polite to ensure that your baby does not cause problems to other hotel guests.

    9. Don't forget to give thanks:

The least taught thing in our country from childhood is to thank others. This small word can make another person feel better at the end of the day. Be sure to thank the hotel staff at check out. Remember they are doing their best to make your trip comfortable. If you write your likes and dislikes in the feedback note of the hotel in a few words, it will be of great help in improving the quality of their services in the future. You can also give some tips to the hotel staff during check out if needed. Above all, if you like the service of the hotel, you can tell everyone about it in stories or through social media. This small work of yours may help to advance a community.

It is possible to show a uniqueness of taste and education at various stages of life through all these small works. These literati enrich themselves as well as release them from responsibility to future generations.
