World Environment Day 2023 celebrated in Gazipur

World Environment Day 2023 was celebrated in Gazipur with the slogan 'To solve plastic pollution, join together' and slogan 'All together, stop plastic pollution'.

Organized by Department of Environment Gazipur District Office and District Administration Gazipur, the event ended with a discussion, awards and distribution of trees on June 5 (Monday) at the city's Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Auditorium. Before this, the program started with a rally.

District Commissioner Anisur Rahman presided over the program and Deputy Director of Environment Directorate Gazipur District Office Md. Nayan Mia gave a welcome speech. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Mamunul Karim, Additional Superintendent of Police Nazmus Saqib Khan and representatives of various environmental organizations attended the event as special guests.

Deputy Director Md. Nayan Mia said in his speech, "Our position against environmental pollution is strict, polluters have no chance to get concessions in any way." At the same time, he urged everyone to be aware personally.

Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman said that it is not possible to prevent environmental pollution in the administration alone, everyone should be alert and aware about environmental pollution. At the same time, he urged everyone to plant more trees.
