    Mahbub Alam is the new Police Commissioner of Gazipur


    Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mahbub Alam has been appointed as the new commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP). 

    The Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

    It is said in the notification that Molla Nazrul Islam, who was serving as Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), has been made DIG of Armed Police Battalion (APBN). And DIG of APBN. Mahbub Alam was given the charge of Commissioner of GMP.

    The notification of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs said that this order will be effective from May 31 (yesterday).

    Mahbub Alam, 18th batch officer of BCS police cadre. His house is in Khodedaudpur village of Homan in Comilla. He joined the police force on 25 January 1999.

    Mahbub Alam was promoted to the post of DIG in May last year. After that he was made DIG of APBN.

    Before serving as DIG of APBN, Mahbub Alam was Joint Commissioner of Intelligence Division (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He served as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tangail during his career. Apart from this, he has served in important positions including missions abroad.
